Shiite Muslims marked Moharram, mourned over the martyrdom of Imam Hussein(AS) in Paris

RELIGIOUS NEWS AGENCY (REDNA) – Holding Moharram procession of 1445 (Hijri year) by Shiite Muslims in Paris, the capital of France, amid the tensions over the recent Quran burning in some European countries was of it`s own importance.

Shiite Muslims from all over of France gathered in Wali-e Asr Association center in Il-de France neighborhood of  Paris and mourned over martyrdom of the Prophet Muhammad’s grandson, Imam Hussein, and his 72 companions in the battle of Karbala in the seventh century in present-day Iraq.

The participants, wearing black clothes, from Islamic countries of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran marked Ashura by beating their chests and reciting elegies.
