Almost 2,000 celebrated Eid al-Adha at Maidenhead Mosque, England

RELIGIOUS NEWS AGENCY (REDNA) – Almost 2,000 people braved the weather to celebrate Eid al-Adha at Maidenhead Mosque on Thursday (June 29).

“Burn Ham” reported the event was originally due to take place at Boyne Hill Cricket Club, however, due to the rainy weather conditions, it was moved to the mosque.

Originally there were three sittings of the congregational Eid prayer planned but four took place in order to accommodate the extra number of worshippers in attendance.

Visitors dressed in new clothing as they attended the mosque for congregational prayers, before meeting each other and exchanging Eid greetings and gifts to celebrate the festivities.

A wide range of treats were on offer including spring rolls, samosas, mithai (Asian sweets), karak chai, chocolates, and ice cream.
