England bishops` synod vote on same sex marriage in coming days

RELIGIONS NEWS AGENCY (REDNA) – Bishops in England are going to decide on same sex marriage in their general synod.

Church of England bishops, Religion Media Center reported, meet today (Tuesday) to decide recommendations on same sex marriage.

The general synod will also vote on in February.

It is expected that this will be published later this week in advance of the synod meeting.

Meanwhile, Penny Mordaunt MP, leader of the House of Commons, has urged the bishops to back same-sex marriage saying the current position will otherwise fester and detract from the CofE’s positive contribution to society.
