Number of Satanism doubled in ten years in England

RELIGIONS NEWS AGENCY (REDNA) – According to academics the number of Satanism has doubled in England in ten years.

As Telegraph reported this weekend the rise of Satanism, registering 5,054 supporters in the 2021 census, is a symptom of religious affiliation that is now self-identified rather than set down by a tradition.

The total number of Satanists, though small in a population of more than 67 million, has doubled in ten years.

Professor Linda Woodhead, head of the department of theology and religious studies at King’s College London, is quoted saying the rise is a symptom of the diversification of the religious and spiritual landscape, which features solitary exploration online.
