Near half of the Muslims in England live in very poor areas

RELIGIONS NEWS AGENCY (REDNA) – The Muslim Council of Britain announced 40 per cent of Muslims in England live in most deprived areas.

“Religion Media Center” reported The Muslim Council of Britain while analyzing the UK census results detailing demographic details of Muslims in England and Wales said Muslims in the UK are really suffering poverty.

The MCB has linked the results with the Index of Multiple Deprivation, indicating 40 per cent of the Muslim population of England live in the most deprived fifth of local authority districts, while just under six per cent live in the most affluent fifth of local authority districts.

The areas with the largest Muslim populations are Birmingham, Bradford, London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Manchester and London Borough of Newham.
