Pope: More women should study theology

RELIGIONS NEWS AGENCY (REDNA) – Pope Francis, the religious leader of the world Catholic Church, said women theology will be more profound and flavorful if more women study theology.

As “Religion Media Center” reported Pope met with the International Theological Commission on November 22 2022 at Vatican church.  The International Theological Commission advises the church.

Pope Francis suggested that it would be important to increase the number of women theologians, not because it is fashionable, but because women bring a different intellectual perspective to theology, which can make theology “more profound and more ‘flavorful’.”

The Pope invited theologians to help correct the tendency of “backwardism” where tradition refuses to grow.

He said theologians must be open to the contributions of other disciplines, deepening all human knowledge.

The Pope said they should teach theology in a way that provokes “wonder and awe” to those who hear them.
