Int`l Quran competition in Germany brings 33 Quran memorizers together

RELIGIONS NEWS AGENCY (REDNA) – 33 Quran memorizer from different Muslim countries participated at an International Quran completion held in Hamburg, Germany.

The completion kicked off on Friday is sponsored by by the An-Nour Quran Memorization Institute affiliated to Kuwait Islamic charity society.

“Registration for the competition had concluded on October 20” Maarib Press quoted Daniel Abedi, director of the institute, as saying.

He hailed the good reception of the Quranic event by Muslims in different countries.

According to Abedin, there are four categories of memorization of five Juzes (parts) of the Quran for those aged sixteen and younger, memorization of ten Juzes for those aged between 16 and 18, memorization of 15 Juzes for those under 25 and memorization of the entire Quran for those under 30 years of age.

He added that the contest will continue until Sunday, November 13.

Sheikh Talal Hadi, head of the organizing committee, said at the opening ceremony on Friday that a number of Quran experts from different countries form the panel of arbiters.
