Sikh community feeds poor people with hot meals

RELIGIONS NEWS AGENCY (REDNA)– Sikh community in England has had a good initiative. The community has opened a “Free Community Kitchen” where people who have difficulties with preparing the high costs of living can have free hot meals.

As the faith of Sikh community says one core principle is performing Seva, which means “selfless service”, a principle started by Guru Nanak Dev Ji more than 550 years ago and best represented by the Langar hall, which means “free community kitchen”, at each Gurdwara.

According to “Express and Star”, with the costs of living including foods, homes` heating materials and other basic food staff many people have left incapable of paying for them.

The initiative performed by Sikh community help those miserable people at least have hot free meals.
