Muslims suffered mental health due to food crisis in Britain

RELIGIONS NEWS AGENCY (REDNA) – A survey showed last year had some shocking news regarding the high costs of living for Muslims in Britain.

A survey conducted by the polling company Muslim Census showed one in five Muslims in the UK used food banks last year.

According to “Religion Media Center” the survey added more than half have experienced difficulty in paying at least one bill.

Also, 65 per cent of Muslims went into debt to manage everyday bills and almost one third had to miss a meal to afford their household bills.

Based on the survey more than 75 per cent reported a negative impact on their mental health, citing worry, guilt and fear about spending on self.

The survey reached 1,568 Muslims aged 18-65+.

This comes as food crisis has affected most of the European countries last year.
