Religious tourism reduces political-social tensions

Talk with tourism-affairs expert

RELIGIONS NEWS AGENCY (REDNA) – “The more the religious tourism is expanded, the lesser the political-and-social tensions, the closer the opinions and the better the social services will be.” said Akbar Rezwanian as an expert and lecturer of tourism-field

In a talk with REDNA (Religious News Agency), Mr. Rezwanian defined “religious tourism” as visitors` seeing holy sites such as mosques and all faiths` other holy places.

“Religious tourism differs from faiths` one. In faiths` tourisms like “Hajj, architecture, Halal tourism and Islamic medications”, visitors believe in spiritual values of the destinations. Religious tourism as the oldest and the most thriving tourism focuses on multiple visiting of holy places by tourists, though. Religious tourisms are beliefs-based so the visitors see a place several times.

Mr. Rezwanian explained lack of enough attention to religious tourisms` infrastructures has negative effects on the visitors` numbers of visiting and duration of staying in destination places. Tourisms` economy has yet to be flourished enough and meet the standard needs of tourism industries. “Travels` routes, destination and religious special attractions” can expand religious tourisms while political and social events in target country can strongly affect visitors` again-coming and duration of staying.
